Hello,
We are going to be migrating our geonetwork system from MySQL to
PostGreSQL. We had been planning on exporting the metadata files in mef
format from the MySQL version, and then importing them into the
PostGreSQL version. I did a trial run, using 2 MySQL instances, and
found that the links to the data were broken when the mef file was
inserted using the tool on the admin tab in geonetwork. URLs associated
with the metadata do not show up at all. Looking at the metadata XML
file in the mef file we see that the data has an ID number that might be
local to the instance as uploading the same file to two instances gives
a different ID number in the mef.
Is there some way to correct this or are mef file unsuitable for
migrations between geonetwork instances? (I thought that was what they
were designed for.) I've already looked through the manuals but found
little on the subject.
Thanks
Karen
