[GeoNetwork-users] Can't login or make a search

This is a problem that in former posts by other users had no solution (please
see:

I'm trying to install GN on Debian 5.0.4 with Tomcat 5.5 and PostgreSQL 8.3.
I set up the db using Gast with no problem. But when I run geonetwork I
can't login as admin/admin and make a search. Same problem: THE REQUESTED
OPERATION COULD NOT BE PERFORMED. NullPointerException :

The list of categories are correctly displayed and the folders privileges
seem ok.

The problem was solved changing the geonetwork owner to tomcat55.
