I'm still trying to get an answer about this issue:
how can i have categories faceted in the html5ui interface ?
I added this line in the WEB-INF/config-summary.xml, in <summary/hits> path
i also changed in the apps/html5/js/App-mini.js, the line with facets settings:
But our GN 2.10.2 installation only shows the orgNames facets:
Any suggestions ?

I have it working in a project. I added to config-summary.xml in
summary/def/hits:
<item name="category" plural="categories" indexKey="_cat" max="15"/>
Note that with this change is required to restart GeoNetwork.
Also I think you need to reindex the catalog or even delete the
WEB-INF/data/index folder before start up again GeoNetwork. Seem in 2.10.X
is used some taxonomy index for this and requires a reindex, not only
adding the element in config-summary.xml I think.
