[GeoNetwork-users] change existing template/schema

Hi all,

I wanted to start with changing the metadata input-form (from dublin core).I
wanted to change the text in coverage textbox, so I set another text at
metadata.xml (at gast/setup/template). But nothing changed. Could it be that
these settings are saved somewhere else (lucene, ..) and GN show me that
savings and not my changed text?

I looked at howto (put up a new template) for 2.2, but at 2.4 I feel there
are some changes to the folder and files structure. Are there any manuals
which describe which file are related to another or something else?
Any hints are welcome!
Thanks.

best regards
Sarah

Hi Sarah

You have to edit the files named labels.xml that are located in the subdirectories of web\geonetwork\xml\schemas\dublin-core\loc. Same for other schemas.

The file you edited i think it's only used by gast tool on GN setup. I recommend to restore the file to the original version.

Jose García

Hi,

are there another files (lucene or another files for stylesheet (I suppose
that it has to do with some of that files)) which have influence on that
issue?
Thanks!

hi all,

thanks to jose!
I installed a postgresql database and used GAST to connect to it (here
config.xml was changed automatically by GAST). Then I started Gn new and
everything works fine. Don´t exactly know how much downloading and
installing jdbc jar for postgres played a role for this issue (I read that
at previous posts that I have to download the jar and I don´t know if this
jar is installed at GN 2.4 yet).

Thanks for help!
I understand GN a little bit more:-)

best regards
Sarah
