[GeoNetwork-users] CSW harvesting not possible - encoding problems and error messages // Does it work in any language-gui?

Dear all,

has somebody problems with the harvesting mechanism for CSW in GeoNetwork
2.10?

I log in as "admin" in a gui switched to German and I can use the
"harvesting management". The gui for harvesting management shows an encoding
error for the German word "Ausführen". This is very strange for all of the
other webpages of GeoNetwork 2.10 do not have any encoding errors at all.
Even stranger is, the the strange encoded "ü" does not fit to either UTF-8,
nor to ISO-8859-1.

I add an harvesting node for CSW (German: Katalogservice für Web ISO Profil
2.0; no encoding error in this list itself). The following page shows the
configuration for harvesting a CSW. The page also has encoding errors for
the German language. Below the headline "Options" I can chose (dropdown
list) at what time the harvesting should start. There is one list for the
hours and there is one list for the minutes. Both lists are empty.

I am not able to start the harvesting process, becaue I am not able to save
the options.

Error message is:
  Eintrag konnte nicht erstellt werden
  Error : error
  Message : Bad period format :0 /1 ? * *
  Class : IllegalArgumentException

It was not much of a problem to switch to the English gui. Harvesting in the
English gui works generally, but the harvestet metadata only shows to the
admin. The harvestet metadata is not public.

In the English gui for harvesting CSW I cannot chose any privileges (groups)
or categories. Both of the lists are empty, although there is an English
translation in our database (originally coming from GN 2.6.0/2.6.4) and it
also can be viewed in the gui "Localization".

If I switch between languages in the CSW gui, GeoNetwork goes to the gui for
harvesting management, instead. This is okay, for the behaviour of the gui
has been like this in e.g. GN 2.6.4.

I think the main problem is the wrong encoding showing in the gui for
harvesting management and the gui for csw. Is there anything I can to in
order to get the encoding right? And is there any chance for me to fill the
lists for hour and minute?

If there is another language which can do the harvesting from csw properly,
please let me know. Only the admin uses the harvesting gui, anyway and so I
could use that other-language-gui instead.

Workaround for German language CSW harvesting:

1. English gui: save the CSW to be harvested without further options for
publication

2. German gui: count out which items of the empty lists you may need for
harvesting the (catalogue "alle", maybe a certain category as well, keep all
of that in mind or write it down etc.)

3. English gui: mark the empty list entries (click "add" for the empty
"alle" and check the boxes needed!) and save again

Once a configuration for a CSW harvesting has been saved, you can use it
with German gui. Off course, "save" still only works in the English gui if
you would like to change anything.

4. Log off from GeoNetwork and check whether all of the harvested metadata
has been published to the internet ("alle").
