[GeoNetwork-users] customise categories and groups

Hi,
is there a way to customise the categories and groups?
I am looking for a way to specify different sets of categories for different
groups.
Or do the categories have to be the same for all the specified groups?

dear Karibu,

there is no relation between the categories and the groups, in GeoNetwork.
So without making changes to the source code yourself, you can't restrict
certain categories to certain groups.

But is it then at least possible to assign only certain groups to a user? I
created a few groups, but when I create a new user, always all groups are
assigned to the user. But I would like to make restrictions.

hi Karibu,

yes, certainly. A user belongs to 1 or more groups. When you create the new
user, you can select one or more of the existing groups at the bottom of the
create-new-user form.
