[GeoNetwork-users] Customising the dropdown list of countries when editing

Hello list,

In geonetwork 2.6 the dropdown list of countries for setting the geographic
extent was populated from the regions and regionsdes tables in the
database. I think in 2.10 this is now changed, and it gets it from the
regions.rdf. I have seen a discussion on the support list about how to
create a new regions.rdf but that seems really complicated and
time-consuming. Is there really no way of going back to the old version of
populating this list from regions/regionsdes?

Thanks

Jo

Hi Jo,

I have not managed to go back to the old tables. It is very time comsuming
to create the new list of countries, but after that you can copy it to

...geonetwork\webapps\geonetwork\WEB-INF\data\config\codelist\external\thesauri\place

and are able to reuse it in a new version of GeoNetwork, because it is some
kind of thesaurus calling "regions.rdf".

I had the idea to use some rdf-editor to create the file containing the
countries, but in the end I only needed about 40 place names with
coordinates and it was okay to type them once again (using the GeoNetwork
GUI from 2.10.1).

Greetings
Anja
