Has anyone done tests with different values for the database pool size
parameter in the database configuration to determine an optimal value or do
you use normally the default value?

Hola Jose, I've been testing decreasing the pool size (because running 150
instances in the same server pointing to the same DB server) and using 2 for
the pool size allows to maintain activity for 32 concurrents users (in a
view and search scenario, small catalogues, and not so many harvester) until
facing pool size exception.
Using the default value, I sometimes get errors when running lots of
harvesters concurrently but the default looks not to bad as far as you don't
get pool error in the log. See also comments added by Simon in the doc [1].
