Hello Forum
I got no answers to this post, and
1) shut down our Geonetwork'sTomcat server
2) deleted all templates from /metadata /table in Oracle (first the children
records in /operationallowed /table).
3) started server
It seems to have caused no problems.
But is there really no way to delete templates via the administrators
interface?

Hi Marianne,
Logging in as an administrator and searching for templates only via the
options in the advanced search should allow you to delete all the templates
in the search results.

Okay, I found out at last.
Logging in as administrator, then search, advanced options -> Restrict to ->
kind -> Template
then delete those templates i guess (I don't have any now).
Thanks to mathieu

Hi Marianne,
does this method successfully remove the templates from the drop-down
menu too, when creating new metadata from a template?
I recall that doing this would only remove the tempates from the
search, but not from the actual drop-down menu (which is probably more
important, e.g. if you really want to get rid of old templates or
update them). To actually remove them from the drop-down, I remember I
had to manually delete entries marked as "template" in the database
itself.

Hi Victor
Yes it does in my Geonetwork 2.6.3.
I tried to add the iso19139/119 templates, so that I got 6 templates in the
drop down list.
I then removed 2 of them by searching for templates and clicking delete.
Now I have 4 templates in the drop down list for new metadata.
The tricky part is to find the combobox where you can choose to search for
templates.
I described that above.
