I tried to evaluate how GN 2.10.3 supports the OpenSearch protocol. I looked into the "Harvest Management" to see if I can harvest any metadata hosted in a remote OpenSearch server, but did not find anywhere how it is supported. I tried to select the type "OGC W*S", "THREDDS" etc, but all ran into errors.
Anyone have experience on GN and OpenSearch? or can shed a light on steps I should pursue?

Hi,
I think (but maybe I'm wrong) that the opensearch is more about searching than harvesting.
For example, if you use Firefox, on the top-right corner, you have this search area. Using the arrow on the left part of this search area, you can select the search engine against which you want to perform the search : google, yahoo, amazon, etc.
Well, now if you are currently on a geonetwork website, click on this arrow, and on the bottom of the list, it will propose you to add this geonetwork instance.
Then, if you select it as your search engine, the keywords you enter in this area will be searched on the geonetwork catalog, not, for example, on google, yahoo or amazon search engines.
