[GeoNetwork-users] Editing template - validation, harvesting

Hi there,

I plan to edit the ISO19139 vector template (adding some new elements) and
was wondering if this might have consequences regarding validation of the
metadata and harvesting by other GeoNetwork nodes. Concerning the latter -
would the newly added elements be harvested and searchable in another
default GeoNetwork node (i.e., one without the modified template).

I've found these useful resources, but would be grateful if you could
suggest any additional links.

Best regards,
Rich.

From the perspective of importing metadata from a customised template (e.g.,

with additional fields inserted into the ISO19115 template) would I need to
remove customised elements before importing into the destination schema in
GeoNetwork?* I haven't attempted this yet, but it would be interesting to
learn how tricky (or otherwise) this might be.

Thanks.

* In the GeoNetwork User manual (p48) it states: '... it has to be noted
that the metadata
must be in one of the standards used by GeoNetwork: ISO19115, FGDC and
Dublin Core.'
