[GeoNetwork-users] error sending WMC

When I try to send a WMC from the Intermap viewer window I'm getting

"An unexpected error has been encountered while processing the mail:
Resource not found"

I'm not sure which 'resource' is being referred to or how to solve.

Geonetwork 2.4 on Tomcat 6 / Postgresql8.4.

any ideas?

Gavin,

Geonetwork needs to be configured for WMC. We use BlueNet version of GN but I think
the following would still apply for GN 2.4:-

***Setting up generation of Web Map Context (WMC) documents**

Geonetwork needs to be configured so it knows how to mail and generate WMC documents. WMC documents allow a user to mail another user a Web map. When the recipient clicks on the link in the email they go to the Genewtowrk site and the map is displayed in their Web Browser. Note that this only works properly if you use the Firefox browser because older versions of IE have problems with long URL's.

1) In the file web/intermap/WEB-INF/config.xml under the XML element <service name="wmc.mailContext">
add your mail server address and public URL of the GN site i.e:

<param name="mailserver" value="your.mail.server.add">
<param name="gnurl" value="http://www.URL.of.GNsite/geonetwork/srv/en/main/home&quot;&gt;

2) From Administration->System Configuration you need to set up your mail server parameters
in the section titled 'Feedback'. Set your mail server address in SMTPHost and feebback email address
in 'email'.
