In the light of recent changes European Directive on use of cookies, I've
been asked to review whether GeoNetwork sets any cookies. My reference
document (from a UK perspective) for the implications and the actions
required is the following Information Commissioner’s Office advice document:
http://www.ico.gov.uk/~/media/documents/library/Privacy_and_electronic/Practical_application/advice_on_the_new_cookies_regulations.pdf
http://www.ico.gov.uk/~/media/documents/library/Privacy_and_electronic/Practical_application/advice_on_the_new_cookies_regulations.pdf
What cookies are set by GeoNetwork (and how they are used) doesn't seem to
be documented but as far as I can see at least the following are set for a
casual user (as opposed logged in user)
name: ys-north-map-panel
example value: o%3Acollapsed%3Db%253A1
expires: 1 week ?
name: mapextent
example value: -117.421875|-70.13671875|117.421875|70.13671875
expires: 1 day ?
name: search
example value: default
expires: never expires ?
name: JSESSIONID
example value: E3B2B9E69D136DED46232F3FEBCB8C51
expires: never expires ?
I'm not sure if I've got everything, does anyone have a full list of all
cookies set and how they are used?
Is it possible to disable any or all of these cookies?
Is it possible to change the expiry values of these cookies?
How is everyone else dealing with this issue?
Thanks
James
