[GeoNetwork-users] export metadata using Gast

Dear All,

I'm trying to back up our entered metadata using the export function of the
gast tool. After specifying the output folder and pressing the export button
the "exporting data" process bar appears but is closed again after a few
seconds and no metadata records are exported.
We are running Geonetwork 2.2 using jetty and we have customised our own
templates for entering metadata.
Is there another way of backing up the data apart from the Gast tool?
I would appreciate any help on how to backup the data.

Many thanks,
Karibu

Hi Karibu,
Assuming you're using a "proper" database (Oracle, Postgres, MySQL) rather
than the built-in mckoi you could simply make an export of the entire
database using your preferred DB manager. I imagine this is possible with
the mckoi database too (just copy the directory where all the files are?
Not sure which directory that is.) That's assuming you want it for backup
rather than to share. It's not a perfect solution, but it should do in a
pinch.

Jonathan
