GAST allows you to export the metadata, thumbnails and uploaded resource
files from Geonetwork as a MEF archive.
GAST handles both export and import, just configure with the options
cofiguration tabs.
Therefore GAST is a useful tool for metadata backups as well as
transfers between Geonetwork instances.
If you just want to tranfer the metadata only, then export manually from
the icon at top right of the displayed entry, as in this example:
