[GeoNetwork-users] External url link to metadata in geonetwork

Hello geonetwork users,

I'm really exited about the new ajax look of Geonetwork 2.2. Good Job Jeroen
and the rest of the community!!!

I've been struggling getting ESRI's Geostickers ISO19115 metadata into
Geonetwork but have succeeded. I had to edit the metadata extensively before
I was able to get it fully validated. There is certainly a lot of work to do
untill everyone is fully compliant to 19115/19139.

My (non-WMS) mapserver application has an external link to geonetwork for
displaying the metadata from a certain layer.

In the former version of geonetwork I was able to show this metadata by
using the following syntax:

http://www.thisisnotherealurl.com:8080/geonetwork/srv/nl/metadata.show?id=10
4&currTab=simple

Then the metadata record was shown OK using the interface geonetwork
offered.

In version 2.2 the above url shows the metadata accompagnied by a javascript
error and an empty menu....

Is there a possibility to make a call to geonetwork using an url with the id
of the metadata-record and let geonetwork display only the data of this
record without these errors?

Best regards and keep up the good work!!!!!

Hi Wim,
Are you saying that such URL will not work when you use a localized service? That sound strange to me. Could you explain?
Ciao,

Dag Jeroen,

No, i was using the old external link to my former geonetwork installation
which had the dutch language installed. I did not start to translate the
newest version and used the old link so it was obvious an error would
follow. The english link is now working almost OK.

http://www.thisisnotherealurl.com:8080/geonetwork/srv/en/metadata.show?id=10
4&currTab=simple

A small problem however still exists. When I try to view the WMS service of
the returned metadata javascript gives me an error. I think this is caused
by the fact that the map object is not present when you use the link above
directly in the browser. Only the metadata page is shown. After a push on
the HOME button intermap is loaded and I can view the Map OK. Is it possible
to view the service when using the direct link as shown above? In the former
version of Geonetwork (2.0.2) I used this was working fine.

Dag Wim,
Try using the following service instead: ../en/metadata.show.embedded?id=104&currTab=simple
This should open the metadata in the homepage next to the search window and map viewer.

Dag Jeroen,

Bedankt voor je antwoord. Helaas werkt het hier niet. Ik werk met versie 2.2
op linux en probeer nu:

http://[mijnip]:8080/geonetwork/srv/en/metadata.show.embedded?id=46&currTab=
simple

Helaas krijg ik een wit scherm met daarin wel de metadata maar verder geen
opmaak eromheen....... Zie plaatje.

Verder werkt mijn installatie goed.
Weet jij misschien wat er aan de hand is....

Groetjes,

Wim
