Hi all,
Thanks for the tips Jose and Christian. I added the logo as Jose suggested and that solved all my harvesting problems! Christian, I also downloaded the version from the ftp site you recommended, I loved the version with the modifications but for some reason that version was also slowing down my system considerably so I had to remove it.

Subject: Re: [GeoNetwork-users] FW: unable to harvest data
Hi
I think this is related to the logos, seem there's a issue with latest version of 2.10 and the logos folder that is not taken properly. When saving the harvester as there're no logos, fail with this nasty error.
A solution is to go to the Logo Management form in the Administration panel and upload a sample logo image. After that in the harvester, select the uploaded logo and then should be possible to save it.

Hi Claire,
I have the same problem and asked here like a month ago with no reply
Although, when I think of it, it had one reply, my own
"totally unrelated to my issue I stumbled across a modified version of
GN
(ftp://ftp.ifremer.fr/ifremer/sismer/donnees/SeaDataNet_Software/CSW/)
and deployed that war using Tomcat. Using that version the Local File
System Harvesting worked just fine."
I don't know if you want to give it a try but it worked for me. However,
I'm still really curious how this problem can be solved using the
"regular" version of GN.

Subject: unable to harvest data
Hi,
I recently installed Geonetwork on a windows 7 server with the default options and database. When I try to harvest metadata of any type (eg. OGS Services, localfilesystem, ArcSDE server) I get the same generic message for all:
Unable to add a new entry
Error: error
Message:
Class: NullPointerException.
Any suggestions? I would really like to be able to use this software!
Thanks,
