[GeoNetwork-users] GAST Metadata import error message 'file type' (2.6.4) - why?

Hi all -

In trying to import a collection of older 'test' metadata - 70-odd records,
MEF - into a new server installation of 2.6.4 I am getting the error pop-up
/Exception: file_type/. This metadata is all in a single subdirectory on the
same server - the Input folder for the import. In my GAST tool the host is
specified (default localhost) and authentication (myself as admin) is
required. In an import, GAST scans the specified input folder for .mef files
and that's what I have - so what might be the problem here?

This is my last little hurdle to clear (...for now)...thanks in advance for
any answer(s)!

Sub-question: is there any list/guide to all the GeoNetwork error
messages/pop-ups one can encounter? Seems like this would be very helpful
for less-advanced users, or, for anyone troubleshooting issues. Haven't seen
such a thing in any of the 2.6.x manuals - perhaps an error list is in the
works for 2.8, esp. considering all the changes coming?
