[GeoNetwork-users] GeoNetwork 2.6.1 release delayed

Hi all

The 2.6.1 release will be delayed until early next week. On monday an
important fix was applied to solve wildcard searches, but yesterday while
testing the installer we found a nasty related problem that causes the
searches to be broken.

We have a solution that needs testing in order to make a proper release.

Thanks and regards,
Jose García

Hi Jose.

Is there a new ETA please?

Ta,

Just.

hello together,

if the release is delayed, maybe there is some time left to control if the
initial filling of the database can be done without having an xserver running
on the system. when running java -jar /geonetwork/gast/gast.jar -setupdb
(e.g. for postgres) up from version 2.5.0 - gast fails, cause it demands an
graphical environment. in normal situations of installing geonetwork it will
run on a server - maybe in a dmz. on such a server, there is no need to run
and update a whole graphical environment.
another point is that harvesting external resources over https (port 443) is
not possible. I think many implementations will use this protocoll, and
therfor this should be manageable in the harvesting configuration.

thanks and regards
armin
