Dear all,
We are on the way to open our GeoNetwork node but during the last testing session we have found a problem when a user click on the "View in Google Earth" button. We cannot display WMS maps into GE 5.0
After some search on the web, we have tried the solution proposed in this topic:
http://n2.nabble.com/Fwd-Re-Can-t-display-WMS-map-images-on-GE-5-0-td2480641.html#a2480641
but instead of the layer image we have a big red X meaning probably that we cannot get the image.
The WMS service is provided by GeoServer and all the WMS layers can be easily visualized into intermap.
Does anyone has an idea to solve this issue?
Thanks a lot and kind regards
Greg

I have not been able to see more than a single placemark (in the ocean) when I launch links to created KML from GeoNetwork. These entries were prepared by indexing the WMS GetCapabilities right into GN. I *ought* to see the map layers in folders pulled from the Capabilities and each layer configured as a registered Image Overlay. I see a legend, but the view and reference placemark are not in the region, and no WMS are displayed. The same layers show very nicely in the map viewer.
Home of over 300 WMS geologic layers from around the world:
- Search for kalahari bedrock
Any feedback or fixes to the software that would allow me to display the WMS layers through the GeoNetwork links would be appreciated. Otherwise, we may as well remove the GE icon.
Doug.
Does anyone has an idea to solve this issue?

Hi Doug,
We have exactly the same problem you mention.
Indeed the best solution would be to have a fix for this bug but I also think that to have the choice to activate or not the GE link would be perhaps a good idea.
All the best
