I used Dimitrios's tutorial to install GeoNetwork 2.2 with IIS/Tomcat and
MySQL. (Thanks)
I recorded my progress here:
http://gisdatamonkey.blogspot.com/2008/08/installing-geonetwork22-iis-tomcat-and.html
I think his tutorial was for GeoNetwork 2.1. The main differences I noted
with GeoNetwork 2.2 is that:
1) The JDBC connector is now included with the installation so there is no
need to download and copy it to geonetwork/web/WEB-INF/lib.
2) Rather than editing the /web/WEB-INF/config.xml I was able to use GAST to
Configure GeoNetwork with MySQL (although I did need to ensure the MySQL
user had index privileges on top of the privileges suggested by Dimitrios).
I have also recorded how to set up IIS and the Tomcat connector for
GeoNetwork. I found that Tomcat55 seemed to work better than Tomcat6...
http://gisdatamonkey.blogspot.com/2008/07/configuring-tomcat-55-with-iis-5-on-xp.html
I hope this is helpful.
