[GeoNetwork-users] Geonetwork data directory and database storage, what's the real content and how to understand the content?

Dear list,
I'm confused (can't find into documentation) on which part of the
configurations I'm saving via the UI management interface is stored on the
geonetwork data directory and what is actually stored into the Postgres
database (only metadata?)

you show the GN data directory structure but it's not clear most of the
below variables which part of the tree are pointing to (eg. formatter,
resources, config. etc)

I can see lot's of different variables pointing to directories but it's not
clear what they are going to store.

I'm going to configure a long term production environment and I'd like to
be able to understand which storage folder should be treated as cache,
which is used for customization, which for configuration and so on.

I can open a ticket to improve the documentation tracking your answer and
help you to improve it if needed.

I really appreciate any help on this and I'm available to improve the
documentation as well.
