Dear Andrea,
We're getting somewhere and I will create a How to/FAQ on the community
site when this is all over:
Changing the port in the db.conf file and specifying the new one in
config.xml resolve the single instance starting and reflecting data.
Howeer, there still a conflict with the port which I can't figure out.
See below:
java.net.BindException: Address already in use
WARN: Not listening on monitor port: 8079

Any insight here ?

Here it is:
<resource enabled="true">
<name>main-db</name>
<provider>jeeves.resources.dbms.DbmsPool</provider>
<config>
<user>admin</user>
<password>admin</password>
<driver>com.mckoi.JDBCDriver</driver>
<url>jdbc:mckoi://localhost:9157/</url>
<poolSize>4</poolSize>
</config>
<activator class="org.fao.geonet.activators.McKoiActivator">
<configFile>WEB-INF/db/db.conf</configFile>
</activator>
</resource>
You only have to change the 9157 port to some other value (maybe 9158).
Cheers,
Andrea
Dear Andrea
Appreciate if you could provide a sample of how the config.xml would
change.
I cannot find a reference to port in teh config.xml file.

Hi Sean,
you can start multiple instances of McKoi. This is what I did when
when I tested the harvesting. You only need one java JVM installed
(1.5) because each instance run in a different address space.
You need to change the db.conf file but also you need to change
the geonetwork's config.xml to specify a different port.
Cheers,
Andrea
