[GeoNetwork-users] Geonetwork & PostgreSQL/PostGIS

Hello everyone.

I installed GeoNetwork 2.6.4 on windows 7. Now a few questions:

- According to the documentation several packages should be included in the installer file. I only have the possibility to install the core package - nothing else, no choice.

- How can I use a PostgreSQL db instead McKOI db? In this matter, the documentation tells me to use GAST (which btw looks completely different on my system than in the documentation). Do I only have to connect to the db-conf of postgresql? I'm looking for an easy way to solve this problem since I'm not that familiar with dbs.

- Last but not least: I thought that GeoServer is embedded in GeoNetwork. I could find a geoserver.war file but it wasn't possible to use GeoServer as map viewer. I downloaded the .war file again from the hp again. Now it looks at least like GeoServer does something since I get some error messages.

Is it possible to add packages after installation or doesn't it sound like I'm missing something?

I would appreciate every response. Cheers,

Michael

In the geonetwork.war there is no option to install parts, there's only the
GeoNetwork-server included.

Read here from slide 12 how to use PostgreSQL:

In the geonetwork.war there is also no GeoServer included, only in the
standalone-version with jetty everything is pre-configured. You'll even need
to fix the config-gui.xml to fix the default from this installation.
