I have installed GeoNetwork v2.6.0 RC2 on a Windows Server 2003 SP2 with
Tomcat and IIS7 where GeoNetwork 2.4.3 was previously installed.
The installation has performed as follows.
1. GeoNetwork installation fine. Home page is up and running.
2. The following, however, are minor issues with the installation.
a. I cannot see the tool to administer a new blank database using
JTDS for hosting metadata records. How do I set a new database in GAST
rather than the default McKoi?
b. Intermap features did not install.
c. GeoServer features did not install.
d. GAST SQL scripts for McKoi and other databases are missing.
If anyone has previous experience which can help me I am very appreciative.
Either run it manually in your database-management program of choice, or
place it in whatever directory geonetwork runs them from (probably
WEB-INF/classes/setup/sql/data/). I managed it without using GAST at all.
You select which database to use via config.xml file.
I don't think GeoNetwork uses Intermap for 2.6.x onwards. I suspect you
need to setup GeoServer yourself but haven't used it with GeoNetwork so
can't be sure (be interested to find out).
If you think any of these are bugs, it's probably best to report them to
the bug-ticketing-system http://trac.osgeo.org/geonetwork/ - at the bottom
under "bug reporting". They're good at fixing them.
Sorry I can't be of more help,
Jonathan

You can run the configure scripts from the commandline using GAST. GAST has some flags to run from the commandline. Obviously you can also use GAST with the GUI to do this.

No more InterMap indeed, the map client is now based on OpenLayers and has all InterMap functionality and more.
GeoServer is included in the installation by default so it doesn't require an additional installation.
Cheers,
Jeroen

Hi Jeroen,
with the new OpenLayers based Map client it is still possible to embed
the map client into an external site via IFRAME?
Yep using iframe you could continue to embed GeoNetwork into another
app, but probably not only the map viewer like if you were using the
intermap webapp alone ? Mapviewer is now embedded in geonetwork
webapp.
We setup a sandbox last month to work on GUI widgets which probably
maybe of interest for you ? Have a look to the proposals [1], examples
[2] and sample demo [3]. This is prototyping.
