[GeoNetwork-users] geonetwork webapp issue

Hello,

I have set up geonetwork on Tomcat 8 by building the WAR from the geoserver
GIT source.

Tomcat installs the WAR file just fine and the tomcat app manager shows that
geonetwork is started.

If I navigate to localhost:8080/geonetwork I get HTTP status 404 from
Tomcat.

"The origin server did not find a current representation for the target
resource or is not willing to disclose that one exists."

If I put a temporary 'index.html' in the geonetwork directory I get the
HTML text in the browser just fine.

What could be missing from my webapp build?

Thanks for any illumination.

Could you attach, paste or upload Tomcat's log file somewhere? It could
help to understand what's happening.
