[GeoNetwork-users] Geoservercannot be started in Geonetwork 2.6.4

Hi,

I have installed Geonetwork 2.6.4 on system with following specs:
System type: 64 Bit
Windows 7 Professional, Service Pack 1

Following JRE is also installed:
jre1.5.0_22
jre6

When installing geonetwork 2.6.4 the installation pack only includes 'Core'
& it does not include
- GeoNetwork User Interface
- GeoServe
- European Union INSPIRE Directive configuration pack

After starting the geonetwork server, only header is displayed in IE 9 &
Maps are not displayed in Firefox 13.0.1 & Googloe Chrome 19.

http://localhost:8080/geoserver gives error:
HTTP ERROR: 503

SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE

RequestURI=/geoserver

Powered by jetty://

Please could someone help me with the above problem.

Hi Saher

The installer for 2.6.4 only includes the package Core, the packages you
describe are available for 2.8.0 version that is not stable yet. You can
find the RC0 here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/geonetwork/files/GeoNetwork_unstable_development_versions/v2.8.0RC0/

About the error, please check in jetty/logs the files output.log and
geonetwork.log to get more information about the cause of error. Also check
you didn't install in Program Files folder, this causes several issues with
permissions, so better to install in a folder like c:\geonetwork instead.

Jose García

Hi Saher

Seem related to geowebcache in geoserver app. Please try this, go to
data/geoserver_data and remove the folder gwc. Restart GeoNetwork and
hopefully should work ok.

Hey Thank you so much Gracia
Finally Geoserver started and maps are also displayed in FireFox, but in IE9 there still only header displays.
Any idea about why it does not display anything in IE9?
And it also does not show the default data that is in geonetwork, do you know the reason?

Kind Regards,

Hi Saher

It's related to http://trac.osgeo.org/geonetwork/ticket/522, that was fixed
after 2.6.4. To fix it:

Copy line 10 from
https://github.com/geonetwork/core-geonetwork/blob/2.6.x/web/src/main/webapp/xsl/header.xsl
in
your xsl/header.xsl file and restart GeoNetwork. Should solve the issue.

The installer for 2.6.4 only includes the package Core, the packages you describe are available for 2.8.0 version that is not stable yet. You can find the RC0 here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/geonetwork/files/GeoNetwork_unstable_development_versions/v2.8.0RC0/

About the error, please check in jetty/logs the files output.log and geonetwork.log to get more information about the cause of error. Also check you didn't install in Program Files folder, this causes several issues with permissions, so better to install in a folder like c:\geonetwork instead.

Hi,

I have installed Geonetwork 2.6.4 on system with following specs:
System type: 64 Bit
Windows 7 Professional, Service Pack 1

Following JRE is also installed:
jre1.5.0_22
jre6

When installing geonetwork 2.6.4 the installation pack only includes 'Core'
& it does not include
- GeoNetwork User Interface
- GeoServe
- European Union INSPIRE Directive configuration pack

After starting the geonetwork server, only header is displayed in IE 9 &
Maps are not displayed in Firefox 13.0.1 & Googloe Chrome 19.

http://localhost:8080/geoserver gives error:
HTTP ERROR: 503

SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE

RequestURI=/geoserver

Powered by jetty://

Please could someone help me with the above problem.
