Subject: "Gridification" of GeoNetwork.

Vous recevez ce courrier électronique car Meyer Xavier (xavier.meyer@...303...) vous envoie des commentaires sur le site que vous administrez à http://geonetwork-opensource.org. Le message envoyé est : Hello, I'm a from the engineer school of Geneva. I'm currently working on a project where we would like to store satellite images on a GRID system. In order to offer a way for the user to browse through the metadata of these images we were thinking of a web site offering quite the same functionality than Geonetwork. Finally with the last version of Geonetwork, it is in fact exactly what we would like to offer to our end-users. The fact is that we would have to "gridify" the Geonetwork Portal. So before looking furthermore into your source code, I just wanted to ask you some questions. I've read that it possible to use any DBMS system having a JDBC. We do not have a JDBC so I think we should create it. Would it be anyway possible ? And if there is some little changes in our database schema would it be a lot of work to adapt Geonetwork ? Then would it be possible to replace the security module by another one ? And finally, but I think I know the answer there. If we want to changes some part of a web page like adding a button or a field, it should be easy with jeeves ? Thank you in advance for you response. Xavier Meyer
