Hello GeoNetwork Team,
I evaluate GeoNetwork and GeoServer for the first time. And I tried to harvest GeoServer as a WFS:
The main parameters of harvesting management are:
Type of OGC webservice: WFS 1.1.0
Service URL: http://localhost:8081/geoserver/wfs?service=wfs&version=1.1.0&request=GetCapabilities
All happened well. I can view the service on main.home page; but there is no outline of the content of the FeatureTypeList elements from Capabilities document?
Where is FeatureTypeList? Please help me to master this problem!
Best Regards
Roland

Hi Roland,
I think, that geonetwork only harvests the metadata and converts it into ISO19139 documents. Maybe it is able to generate the metadata from the single featuretype objects or their corresponding MetadataURL elements - if given
. This is the behaviour as it is done for wms layer (see the harvesting admin interface).
Geonetwork is a metadata broker and it does what a metadata broker should do: manage metadata
.
If you need an other solution, you may have a look at http://www.mapbender.org - it can handle featuretypes and you can export the metadata to geonetwork nodes to use its csw interface.
Best regards
Armin

Harvesting means to read a Capabilities document, and it contains a metadata
triple: name, title, abstract not only for the service, but also for each
feature; and I expect to get this data presented too.Why does GeoNetwork not
show the metadata of the features: is it a bug or a lack or is it
philosophy?Best RegardsRoland
