[GeoNetwork-users] harvesting - geonetwork as server

Hi all,

I need to harvest metadata from GeoNetwork to some other system. Is it
possible without extending GN functionality ?? Does GeoNetwork has some
services that allow connecting from other applications (not GN)?
Does anyone who has experience with that, can explain me how to do this?

Cheers,
Łukasz

hi,
You can connect to GeoNetwork using OAI-MPH or CSW 2.0.1 protocols
You can also use GeoNetwork's custom services that give more precise control on the process, including the transfer of thumbnails, attribution logo and basic privilege settings. Finally you can use the RSS output format on searches using the OpenSearch protocol or direct RSS access. Plenty of options
Ciao,
Jeroen
