Hello all,
I was trying to customize a metadata template to my needs. There is a special demand to manage satellite images, therefore I would like to add some fields in 'Spatial Representation Info' section like Satellite, Sensor, Bands, Path, Row, Resolution, etc.
I found a nice modification to describe satellite images in the template developed by ICIMOD:
http://arcsde.icimod.org.np:8080/geonetwork/srv/en/main.home
Ok, the ISO19115 standard offers lots of possibilities for a comprehensive metadata profile even to create a community profile. So I read the ISO19115 abstract specification.
My questions:
Can I add a flat list of metadata in 'Spatial Representation Info' section (e.g. sensor, satellite...)? Is it still standard conform because it's not part of the UML diagram?
What's about removing 'Number of dimensions', 'Dimension size'... because these are mandatory fields?
Addionally I want to add some metadata fields to the 'Reference System Info' which are described in the UML diagram like 'MD_CRS' and 'MD_ProjectionParameters' to specify ellipsoid and projection. These fields aren't implemented yet in advanced view of a metadata template in GN2.1.
So I tried to customize the XML document manually but it doesn't work.
So what should be done addionally? Are there other XML files that have to be customized?
XML is nice but for a machine. I'm not a developer so any helpful suggestions are welcome.
Have a nice weekend,
Christian
