Hello Christian,
du you now the following site:
http://www.dachplus.org/ or
http://geoportal.dachplus.org/geonetwork/srv/de/
They integrated a mapbender instead of the intermap client and the've
done a german translation. As Jereon said, the intermap is only the
client, the server components must only support the ogc specs for wms or
wfs.
We plan to integrate geonetwork as metadata catalogue in our sdi too.
But we will go another way: geonetwork is only for editing iso19139
datasets. The services are administrated in a customized mapbender
database - which have some advantages. The main problem for us is the
single sign on between php and tomcat sessions on different servers.
This can be solved by using
http://php-java-bridge.sourceforge.net/pjb/ .
If you have further question, just ask.
Greetings
Armin

Hello Armin,
yes I know this site. I joined their presentation at FOSSGIS2008 in Freiburg by David Arndt.
Till now Geonetwork is just for editing and searching for metadata in our project. But I developed a 'stand alone' mapbender application for administrating some services. So I would like to integrate my mapbender client application in Geonetwork...
They are running at the same server. So what can be done?
Greetings,
Christian

Hello Christian,
tomorrow there is the Mapbender Dev Sprint in Bonn:
http://www.mapbender.org/Mapbender_Development_Sprint_2009_01_09
I want to create a howto for integration of Mapbender in Geonetowrk like i did
it for the Geoportal DACH+.
This howto will be on the Mapbender Wiki (www.mapbender.org). Have a look at
this site in the next week.
If you have any question, contact me.
Regards, David.

Hello Christian,
I think it would be better to integrate geonetwork a real cms and
mapbender with single sign on. The main problem occur with the user
management. For our demands it is essential to have a complex user
management which shows the relations between users/groups and services.
Although there should be the possibility to digitize objects through
wfs-t and the objects should be owned by the user who digitized it. All
this demands need a complex user management. The user and group
management of geonetwork is very simple and doesn't fullfil our demands.
There are no rights for working with ogc conform objects like
wfs/featuretypes/wms/layers/wmc. Therefor you should be careful to do
the integration the other way. If you only want to exchange the wms
client you will not have needs for a complex authorization. Then the
integration should been done on the way like David does it. You don't
need to integrate the session management. You can easy change the links
which invoke intermap by links which invoke a mapbender gui with an
anonymous user - in the new version of mapbender you can give a wmsurl
as get parameter and it will load this in the client. If you want to
exchange the map-client in the search module it would be a bit more
complicated.
You can try our geoportal (http://www.geoportal.rlp.de): The distributed
search is done by the opensearch interface of portal-u. You can search
in all entries of portal-u. Example: search for wms and you will get 67
entries under 'Metadaten' - 9 in INGRID RP and the other ones in INGRID
DE (without the entries of RP). In the German Catalogue the first entry
which have a capabilities url is 'WMS Landschaftsinf...'. This is a wms
of NRW which metadata is found in the environment data catalogue (UDK)
of NRW. You can click on the worldsymbol and the WMS will be load into
the viewer. Yo must activate it in the layertree. In the tree there is a
context menu (blue down arrow) where you can choose 'zoom'. This will
zoom to the lat/lon extension of the specific layer.
Greetings,
Armin
