[GeoNetwork-users] Import / Harvest

Hello
I have one simple question  (If a simple question exists)
What is the best way to add/move/copy records from one geonetwork to
another ?

I have GN 3.10.3.0 that has around 400 records and I want to *move* them to
a new(another) GN and then maybe to GN 4.0.5 if possible.

Thanks, H贸ddi

You want to move to another server, but using the same version of
GeoNetwork? If so I would export the current database and load it in the
new database and do the same for the data directory.

and then maybe to GN 4.0.5 if possible.

I would try first a similar approach as previous, and let GN 4.0.5 do the
migration, unfortunately sometimes is not that straightforward, but I would
try it.

Sorry if an obvious comment, but any migration should be done in a copy of
the production database, not directly with the production database.

Thanks, H贸ddi

Thanks Jose for this.

What if I have two instances of GeoNetwork and want to combine them!
I would like to export from GN1 and import to GN2. I'm using H2 btw.

Hi H贸ddi

For the case you describe, an option I see is to export from GN1 to MEF
format the metadata and import the file in GN2. If both systems have the
same users / groups, the metadata privileges should be preserved. I would
try it first in a test instance.

Also for a production system I would not recommend H2, I would suggest
Postgres for production.
