[GeoNetwork-users] Import metadata mef format fails

Hi all,

I am struggling greatly in migrating metadata from my GN 2.03 to 2.10 which
is also on another machine. Succesfully exported metadata using GAST into
MEF format. When I try to import this into GN2.10 however using GAST I get
the error 'missing metadata.xml' which I don't have. I have a feeling the
tool is looking for xml files which I don't have, as it is in mef/html
format.
So I thought I'd try to import metadata using the batch import tool. I moved
the mef files locally to the new server. But here I keep getting the error
message: The requested operation could not be performed. The only way that
has worked for me so far is copying and pasting the xml from mysql to XML
Metadata insert, but I hope that is not the only working option....

Anyone got any suggestions?!

Thanks ahead!
Mark

Hi Mark,
I have the same problem that you have. Did you find any solution?
Thanks
Antonio

Hi Antonio,

I gave up the metadata upgrade using the various tools as I couldn't figure
out what I was doing wrong based on the documentation and I did not get much
response to my request.
Considering the fairly limited number of entries I had I figured a Copy and
Paste of the XML from phpMyAdmin (old version) to XML Metadata Insert (new
version) was less work than solving this problem and therefore quicker.
Though not elegant and rather boring... And unfortunately I cannot
contribute my elegant solution for others to benefit from....

Sorry I cannot be of more help....

cheers,
Mark
