[GeoNetwork-users] Import XML limitation

Thanks for your help. There is no metadata which use same ID in our catalog. So, I deleted all the fileID of my metadatas, and now it works perfectly. Thank you very much,

Hi Romain,
It looks very much that there is a uuid duplication though. Are you
sure there's no other metadata in your calatog that already uses this
identifier?
You could try to remove the uuid (or FileID) from the metadata and
try again.

For example Jeroen & Romain, when you said in 2007 to delete all the fileID
(i.e. UUID) of your metadatas before importing some XML, did you mean you
deleted from XMLs the blocks like
  <gmd:fileIdentifier>
      <gco:CharacterString xmlns:srv="http://www.isotc211.org/2005/srv"

xmlns:gmx="http://www.isotc211.org/2005/gmx">dbf50d22\-5ce4\-415b\-ba26\-72fb6838c350</gco:CharacterString>
  </gmd:fileIdentifier>
or just the string, or to remove the IDs from those in the GeoNetwork
already? The UUID isometimes changes, possibly if you e.g. update the author
name. In any case, in the current version there are three options what the
application should do when importing data with a UUID already used.
Shouldn't they take care of the conflicts?
