[GeoNetwork-users] iso 19115 metadata and shapefile attributes

Hi,

I need a hint how to enter attribute information (field names, data types, etc)
into ISO 19115 metadata form of geonetwork (template for vector data).

Thanks

Stefan

Hi Stefan,
Unfortunately, I think there are no such provisions in the 19115 standard in contrast to FGDC. Maybe someone else knows how to accomodate for this?
Ciao,
Jeroen

Hi all,

The attributes aren't defined in the 19115 standard but the 19110 standard!

Our team is working on the integration of this standard in the GN. To avoid
modifying the GN structure, we add the standard inside the actual 19115
schema from GN (a new element tag in the XML schema). The computing team is
working to modify the interfaces (creation, view,...) to enter these
attributes.

I hope that we could merge this functionality in GN before the end of this
year !

Here, the content of the useful 19110 standard :

FC_FeatureCatalogue : a catalogue of features
  |
  |--- FC_FeatureType : a property (here, the "table")
      |
      |
      |-- FC_FeatureAttribute : an attribute with
description
          |
          |
          |- FC_ListedValue : if needed, list
of value of an attribute.

Sincerely,

Pierre.

Hi Pierre,
Excellent! Looking forward to see that because I know there are many people that miss this in the current structure!

Hi

Did someone manage to integrate ISO 19110 FC_FeatureCatalogue in GN ISO
19115 schema? It would be great if we could receive the adapted part of the
schema?

Adding nice formatted atttribute information to the supplemental field or to
an external pdf file seems to be a less-than-ideal solution. The schema
adaptation sounds very smart.

Best Regards

Christoph
