[GeoNetwork-users] ISO19115-3 plugin thumbnail issue.

Hey there. I'm still getting my head around GeoNetwork, but wondering if anyne has any insight as to how I could fix this problem.

I've installed GeoNetwork version 3.4.1.0 and all works great.

I then included the ISO19115-3 plugin from here

https://github.com/metadata101, Imported the templates and for the most part it all seems to work fine.

The problem I'm having though is adding a thumbnail as per the documentation here

https://geonetwork-opensource.org/manuals/3.4.x/is/user-guide/associating-resources/linking-thumbnail.html

I can add images to the metadata file store, select them and have the preview image display, but when I click the 'Add Link' button (Or 'Add Online Resource' in the case of this template) It never actually links the resource to the main record - so no thumbnail.

I am afraid I have no idea what is happening here - there's no console errors, or network errors - has anyone got any suggestions as to what I can do to trouble shoot this?

Also - if I use a ISO19139 template to create a record the thumbnails appear fine and link as they should so It appears to be uniquely this particular plugin...

Hi

This was reported as an issue just yesterday. See the link below.

https://github.com/metadata101/iso19115-3/issues/35

The reason being is that thumbnails/overview images are dealt with slightly cleaner and differently way in the iso19115-3 schema.

See Evert Bleys more detailed technical explanation of the problem below.

Hi Guys
Note: in ISO 19115-3 there is a new way of managing overviews
The original way is still there but deprecated
Ideally use:
/mdb:MD_Metadata/mdb:identificationInfo/mri:MD_DataIdentification/mri:graphicOverview/mcc:MD_BrowseGraphic/~

mcc:fileName/gco:CharacterString <\!\-\- this element is mandatory although cit:name below duplicates its use \-\->

<!-- this was always a clumsy way of providing the filePath -->
<!-- this element could be managed as null eg mcc:filename/ -->
mcc:linkage/cit:CI_OnlineResource/~
cit:linkage/gco:CharacterString <!-- this was claen way of providing the filePath -->
cit:name/gco:CharacterString <!-- Tidier way of dealing with the name (not filename) of the browse graphic -->
cit:description/gco:CharacterString <!-- Good way of dealing with the WCAG2 requirements for description of images -->
Cheers
