[GeoNetwork-users] Last release candidate (RC2) available for GeoNetwork opensource v2.4.0

Dear all,
It is a pleasure to announce the last release candidate for GeoNetwork opensource. In Bolsena, Italy we had some excellent work done, fixing a wide range of bugs and making some solid performance improvements. I hope you will be able to do some good testing of this release candidate, after which we will release the Final version in two weeks from now.

The v2.4.0RC2 can be downloaded here:

Big thanks to all contributors and testers,
Greetings,
Jeroen

Hi all,

I've already installed the RC2 (GSDI11 edition  ) on xp pro 64 bit
workstation with postgresql DB.
Everything's workin fine!

best regards
Michele

Jeroen,

Just downloaded the RC2 release and tried it out. I'm very keen to use this
release as it has some great new features for import and harvesting.

I do have a problem accessing the harvesting page. I get a blank page and
the following error message in the console. I'm guessing I'm getting a nill
return from the harvesting.

Is there anything I need to set up? I'm running on localhost with MySQL
straight out the box.

Many thanks

Peter

Hello Peter,

2009/7/7 Peter Bladon <peter@anonymised.com>:

I do have a problem accessing the harvesting page. I get a blank page and
the following error message in the console. I'm guessing I'm getting a nill
return from the harvesting.

I can't reproduce the error in the harvesting page. Which browser are
you using ? Could you try to refresh your browser's cache ? Any JS
errors ?

Migrating from Xalan to Saxon for XSL transformation, could generate
some "recoverable error" message which does not make the
transformation to fail.

Ciao. Francois

Hi Peter,
Could you file a ticket for this here: GeoNetwork opensource Developer website

You may first need to create an account on the OSGeo.org website for that.

It would be great if you could provide more background and configuration details in the ticket. I have tried to replicate the problem on my system (OS X) and although I see the error in the log file, the page is still shown correctly. Also try to give your system a little more time to display the buttons for the first time, I have seen that it sometimes takes a little more time for them to appear.

Thanks for testing and reporting! Ciao,
Jeroen

Jeroen,

Problem might have been as simple as browser cache issue. Now working for
me.

Many thanks
