[GeoNetwork-users] metadata for a raster catalogue

Hi list,

at our company we have a raster catalogue (a .mdb) for our orthophotos. No we
want to create metadata for this catalogue and fill it with data which is unique
for every orthophoto like date, extent, origin.

Is this possible or only for every orthophoto itself?

Did anybody create (inspire template) metadata with arcgis 10 and import it into
geonetwork?

Thanks for any suggestions!

best regards
Sarah

Hi Sarah

If the raster catalogue is published as an OCG WxS service you can use the
OGC WxS harvester to create the metadata for the service and also all the
layers available in the service.

If you are working with ArcGIS Desktop, you can also export the metadata for
the raster layers straight into GeoNetwork using the Bridge extension
http://geocat.net/bridge.

The extension also creates a metadata record based on the INSPIRE profile.
It will use ArcGIS functionality to extract data properties and allow you to
edit a minimum set of required fields.

This is a licensed extension.

Regards,
Jose García
