I am using geonetwork with jboss. After deploy everything is working ok, if I
add thumbnail to metadata it is shown correctly. But problem is, that
thumbnails are saved in metadata_data folder. So after restarting server,
.war is redeployed and old metadata_data folder is deployed again and newly
added thumbnails are lost. I think that you should save thumbnails to some
other folder that is not deleted after redeploy or save them to database.

You should setup a custom datadir
