Hi all,
recently I upgraded my GN instance from 3.0.2 up to 3.3.0 on ubuntu server
(I also upgraded to Tomcat8). After upgrading all thumbnails (both on main
search page and detail page) are missing. I use Tomcat8 and Postgresql
database. My data_dir is externalised at /data/GN/data.
My steps during upgrade:
-in tomcat8/bin created setenv.sh script and added JAVA_OPTS:
-Dgeonetwork.schema.dir=/var/lib/tomcat8/webapps/geonetwork/WEB-INF/data/config/schema_plugins"
-Dgeonetwork.dir=/data/GN/data
-change owner of /data/GN/data to user tomcat8
-geonetwork.war deployed in Tomcat
-edited database configuration (config-node/srv.xml,
config-db/jdbc.properties)
-Tomcat restarted
After that I can see all my metadata records but without thumbnails. After
clicking on edit button on metadata detail page I can see correct thumbnail
name in associated resources but without overview (in attachment).
The thumbnail image is in data dir in folder matching to metadata id (e.g.
/data/GN/data/data/metadata_data/43200-43299/43274/public/00042_00041.jpg
matchs to url
http://mapy.natur.cuni.cz:8080/geonetwork/srv/eng/catalog.edit#/metadata/43274
)
My GN instance is public at http://mapy.natur.cuni.cz:8080/geonetwork/
I suppose I've missed some configuration but right now I have no idea where.
Thanks in advance.
Adam

I think that from 3.0.x to 3.2.x there is a database migration to change
some resource URLs in the metadata documents.
Try to rebuild the index in the Admin Console -> Tools -> Rebuild index.

Hi Juan,
thanks for quick response. I've tried to rebuild the index. Do you know how
long it should take for more than 28K records? I started it yesterday night
and it's still running. In Admin console I can see:
Indexing in progress ...
28674 records indexed.
and progress bar still moving.
Is there any other way how to migrate db e.g. using script and with some
log how many percent is already rebuilt?
Thanks,
Adam

Hi,
I tried rebuild index but it had no effect. Just to be sure I tried to
deploy new gn.war (3.3.0) again with these JAVA_OPTS:
-Dgeonetwork.schema.dir=/var/lib/tomcat8/webapps/geonetwork/
WEB-INF/data/config/schema_plugins -Dgeonetwork.dir=/data/GN/data
and from data dir I deleted old index and spatial_index folders.
After editing srx.xml and jdbc.properties files and restarting Tomcat, GN
started to build index which took few hours.
My problem now is that records don't display thumbnails.
In xml view there is:
<gmd:fileName>
<gco:CharacterString>D1_00107_00053.jpg</gco:CharacterString>
</gmd:fileName>
It worked fine in my old GN version (3.0.2)
I can manually add the thumbnail in md.editor simply by clicking on the
file name in Associated resources which changes the URL.
Then there is in xml view:
<gmd:fileName>
<gco:CharacterString>
http://195.113.57.136:8080/geonetwork/srv/api/records/dc3669ee-843d-4d9a-9b6f_batch7_layer_D1_00107_00053_300dpi/attachments/D1_00107_00053.jpg
</gco:CharacterString>
</gmd:fileName>
After this the thumbnail is displayed both at detail page and search page.
How is it possible to change the URL automatically? Am I missing some
migrate process?
Thanks for your help.
