[GeoNetwork-users] Multiple logos in a local catalogue

Hi Everybody,

I have a quick question to the developers. Is there any way to have two or more different logos associated to the metadata that belong to a local database? I mean, excluding the external metadata retrieved by the harvesting.
Here in the FAO GeoNetwork I am uploading a group of metadata for which the owner requested a different logo rather than the logo of FAO only.

Thank you in advance for your reply,
Patrizia

Hi Patrizia

As far as I know is not possible from the user interface.

For the logos I think is used the sources table. So probably can manage
this (but need testing):

1. Add a new record in the sources table

2. Create a gif image with the name equal to the uuid created for previous
record and put it in the images/logos folder. If you're using 2.10, the
default path is geonetwork/WEB-INF/data/data/resources/images/logos

3. Update the metadata table for the record(s) you require setting the
source to the record created in 1.

The problem with this approach is that in the Advanced Search options, in
the Catalog field will be displayed a new entry for this new source that
will filter only the record(s) assigned to it.

Jose García

Manually upgrade your production database.
When you want reliability, choose Perforce
Perforce version control. Predictably reliable.

Hi Patrizia,

another option is to define the logo URL at the contact level in the
records.
(see
http://geonetwork-opensource.org/manuals/trunk/fra/users/editor/new_metadata/index.html#associer-des-logos-aux-contacts
)

This is used here for example https://download.data.grandlyon.com/catalogue

It has number of benefits including that you can have multiple logos, when
the record is harvested the logo is always defined. It does not mean the
same as the harvesting logo which is the source harvested catalog for the
record.

This will also be clearly defined in the standard update ISO19115-1.

HTH.
