[GeoNetwork-users] new postgresql database name not fully recognized

I have installed Geonetwork 2.8.2 (branch28-2012-11-26) in Tomcat 7.0 and
using PostgreSQL 8.4 for the database.

In the config file I have set the database up to use postgres but instead of
naming the database 'geonetwork' I called it 'gn282' as I'm testing this
setup at the moment. Therefore the connection url is
<url>jdbc:postgresql://xxx.xxx.x.xx:5432/gn282</url>.

When Geonetwork starts the categories don't show and the dropdown list for
region only as 'Any' & 'User-Defined'. The log shows the standard "no
pg_hba.conf entry" error but instead of the database name 'gn282' being used
it's trying with the default database name 'geonetwork'.

/FATAL: no pg_hba.conf entry for host "192.168.0.50", user "PAC_GNET_USR",
database "geonetwork", SSL off/

I'm fine to return to using 'geonetwork' as my database name. But, if I can
choose to declare a different database name in the config file it should be
recognized across the application. Is there another way to declare the
database name to use?

Abe.

Hi Abe,

Did you run web\geonetwork\WEB-INF\classes\setup\sql\data\loc-eng-default.sql
or the loc-<yourLanguage>-default.sql file?

This adds localised categories, regions
etc. to the db tables. Could be the reason you don't see the categories listed.

Pretty sure you can use any name you like for the postgres db, it doesn't
have to be 'geonetwork'

Hi Abe

Please check the connection you have configured has the enable attribute to
true and no other database connection has the same value.

Jose García
