[GeoNetwork-users] No Map Viewer

Hello,

I just finished installing GN 2.10.4 and there is no image in the overview
map in the upper left of main page. When I click on the Show map link below
where the map should be, the map image is also missing.

I'm using tomcat 8 and it is running on 8080
GN is running on 8080

I tried to change the GN port to 8085 but sill having the same issues. Any
ideia about this problem?

Regards,
Natália Oliveira

Hi Natália,

Take a look at WEB-INF/config-gui.xml- at the mapSearch and mapViewer
sections. By default these are configured to point at a local installation
of Geoserver, so if you don't have that then no mapping will appear. You
can configure those sections to point at any WMS- you need to change the
server URL, possibly the map options (CRS, maxExtent, units) and definitely
the layers. You will need to restart Geonetwork for any changes to show.

I hope that helps,

Jo

Hello Jo, thanks for your help. I don't have a Geoserver and I tried to use
the NASA Earth Observations (NEO) WMS. I changed
the <mapSearch <mapViewer on config-gui.xml to this:

I restarted the Tomcat and now when I access the GN it keep saying that is

Any ideia? Am I adding the WMS as it supposed to be?

Thanks,

Hi Natalia, not sure if this will fix your problem, but make sure you use the layer/name parameter from capabilities in the layers configuration. Names in that capabilities are for example: MOD14A1_M_FIRE, MOD14A1_E_FIRE, MOD_143D_RR (this is true color)

Hi people,

I think I'm facing the same problem as Natalia.

I am using Debian 7.8, Tomcat 7, Geonetwork 2.10.4.

When I'm load Geonetwork page from localhost I can see the Graphic
Overviews. But when I'm in a remote machine Graphic Overviews don't appear.

I didn't understood Paul's explanation, but when I edit the metadata, in
Graphic Overviews section, this is what appear (from the remote machine):
http://localhost:8080/geonetwork/srv/eng/resources.get?uuid=9554625d-0710-43c9-8b71-79d672b9b264&fname=Geologia_Arequipa.png

Hi,

The url is not good :
http://localhost:8080/geonetwork/srv/eng/resources.get?uuid=9554625d-0710-43c9-8b71-79d672b9b264&fname=Geologia_Arequipa.png
localhost:8080 is not a public url.

You should update your settings (admin/settings), and replace host and port
by your public ones.
Then, i think future thumbnail adding will have the correct public url.
If other metadatas doesn't update their resourceUrl by themselves after
this change, you should run a search/replace batch on your metadatas.

Hello All,

First of all thanks for helping me with this issue.

I changed the web-gui.xml (mapSearch and MapViewer) to show the Earth Maps
using DEMIS World Map Server, maybe this can help Rogerio Kanke

<mapSearch options="{projection: 'EPSG:4326', maxExtent: new
OpenLayers.Bounds(-180,-90,180,90), units: 'degrees', restrictedExtent: new
OpenLayers.Bounds(-180,-90,180,90)}">
  <layers>
    <layer server="http://www2.demis.nl/wms/wms.ashx?WMS=BlueMarble"
tocName="Map" params="{layers: 'Earth Image,Borders', format:
'image/jpeg'}" options="{isBaseLayer: true}" />

<mapViewer options="{projection: 'EPSG:4326', maxExtent: new
OpenLayers.Bounds(-180,-90,180,90), units: 'degrees', restrictedExtent: new
OpenLayers.Bounds(-180,-90,180,90)}">
  <layers>
        <layer server="http://www2.demis.nl/wms/wms.ashx?WMS=BlueMarble"
tocName="Ortophoto" params="{layers: 'Earth Image,Borders', format:
'image/png'}" options="{isBaseLayer: true}" />
  </layers>
  <scales values="[7500000, 5000000, 2500000, 1000000, 750000, 500000,
250000, 100000, 75000, 50000, 25000, 10000, 7500, 5000, 2500, 1000]" />

  <proj>
    <crs code="EPSG:4326" default="1" name="WGS84 (lat/lon)" />
  </proj>
  <servers>
