Hello all,
I want to bind vector data I have in my PostGIS database to GeoNetwork
catalogue of metadata. To put it simple, I want to describe the data
stored in PostGIS and point to it through metadata in GeoNetwork so I
can find and access it later.
How to provide correct URL to PostGIS database table?

How to provide correct URL to PostGIS database table?
I usually use the protocol DB:POSTGIS in the online resource with
connection information.
There is some example in the french documentation:
http://geonetwork-opensource.org/manuals/trunk/fra/users/editor/new_metadata/index.html#associer-vos-donnees
It also provide the capability to publish the data as WMS in GeoServer
if you have one configured.
Cheers.

Hello Francois,
thank you very much! It worked flawlessly!
One more question regarding PostGIS connection in GeoNetwork.
As I am new to GeoNetwork, I wonder, what for we use PostGIS linkage?
Only to publish as WMS in Geoserver?
I have almost all my data stored in several PostGIS databases. How to
better organize storage and management of metadata to quickly find and
retrieve the data (using PostGIS as online source of course)?

All the best,
Vladimir.
