[GeoNetwork-users] problem with download data

Hi,
I uploaded some data to geonetwork, but each time I try to download it using
a remote computer or the computer geonetwork is sitting on an error comes up
that says: failed to connect, the connection was refused when attempting to
contact "my Host number":8080.
Anyone knows why this happens?
Thanks for the help.

Hi there. Is the exact error message as stated in the mail "my Host number":8080 or did you just put this in to obfuscate your actual IP? It would be good to know what the actual error message from Geonetwork is from the tomcat/jetty logs.

I have had a similar problem, but this is because out Geonetwork node is behind a reverse proxy, so the server that Geonetwork is sitting on, is different from what it is actually served as. I have had to edit the download links in the database, or through the UI in order to get the links correct. Check in the actual metadata in the database to see if the link that is stored there is actually correct, and accessible. You may need to rewrite it slightly if you are working from behing a reverse proxy, or using a Tomcat-Apache connector, or if Geonetwork is running on a port other than 8080.

Good luck.

Hi,
I just but "my Host number" to obfuscate the actual IP. The error that comes
up when I try to download data is not an error from geonetwork, but from
firefox.
It says:
Failed to Connect
The connection was refused when attempting to contact 82.69.54.49:8080.
Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a
connection.

I checked the firewall and this should not be the problem.
Has anyone a clue what the problem could be?
Thanks.
