Hi,
I'm setting up a geocatalog for use in some African countries. As their
access to internet is not really reliable, the solutions adopted is to
install basic geonetworks on editors' computers, in order for them to be
able to create/edit metadata without internet connection.
And then, when they have the connection, they can export MEF from their
local geonetwork, and import them in the distant server.
The problem encountered is that, proceeding this way, I have some things
that get broken / dirty :
- the URLs are broken since their local adresse is in
http://localhost:8080/geonetwork and the distant's server one is pretty
different
- as the groups are not synchronized between local and distant catalogs,
some groups privileges / ownership are lost
- since their local catalog are not called the same, I get on the distant
catalog a list of "unreal" catalogs : each local catalog name is still
present in the distant catalog's database, and thus listed in the "restrict
to ... catalog" in advanced search mode.
Do you have an idea how I could make it work better ?
Thanks.
Cheers,
Jean
