[GeoNetwork-users] Problems with Installation of Geonetwork

Can someone help me, i have been trying to install Geonetwork software on my laptop but it always fails to finish the process, the error I get is as follows

Transformer configuration Exception:
--could not complete stylesheets

Fatal [gast] raised exception: could not comply style sheets

Error 'unknown protol c'

javax.xml.transform: Transformer Configuration Exception

Now i dont know how to proceed, but i really need to use this software my MSc Thesis. I have Vista on my laptop

if you're using Java 1.6, try installing Geonetwork in a location without
any spaces in the directory path (so not in its default location for Windows
"C:Program Files\....").

Hello Juliet,

I've had similar issues in the past when I tried to double click on the
installation .jar file (still using Windows XP Pro). What works well for me
is to install at the command line, specifying the path to my java. For
example:

.....\Desktop>"c:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_13\bin\java.exe" -jar
geonetwork-install-2.2.0.jar

I also receive a StringIndexOutOfBoundsException String index out of range:
41" error when installing geonetwork-install-2.4.0-RC1.jar on Windows XP
Pro.

I use a command line Java install with c:/geonetwork/ as the install path.
("C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_17\bin\java.exe" -jar
geonetwork-install-2.4.0-RC1.jar)

Do you have any suggestions on installing GeoNetwork 2.4.x on XP?
