We are in the process of upgrading from Geonetwork 1.2 to 2.0. We are
using Tomcat 5.5.20 for our application server. Because of configuration
issues, I cannot make any changes to the server.xml file in our
production environment. Instead, I have added two separate xml files
called geonetwork.xml and intermap.xml to the
"apache-tomcat-5.5.20\conf\Catalina\localhost" directory. Geonetwork
fires up with no problem, but Intermap does not using this
configuration. The tomcat log file seems to indicate that the geonetwork
is found however.
In my development environment, if I follow the directions and place the
contexts in the server.xml file, I have no problems.
Can any one recommend a solution to this? I am a newbie to Tomcat and am
not familiar with all the configuration options!
Thanks,
Jason Pickering

Hi Jason,
We are aware of this behavior and the only working solution is to add the contexts to the server.xml file. I understand this is problematic for you. Another option would be to use an earlier version of Tomcat or use Jetty.
I'm not sure what causes this behavior and it seems to be Tomcat dependent.
Ciao,
Jeroen
