I just installed geonetwork
The installation is fine, but when I open my localhost geonetwork, it asks
me for a username and password.
*Where do I get the password?
*Is there a file where I have to set up my password? (I want to use it
using my PC as serverin a LAN)
*How do I upload my files?

Upload from my computer
I select the xml metadata
Press +Import
I get green box "Import report"
But I cannot find my data
I tried assigning to a group and to a category

Hi Vladimir
The xml in the shapefiles are in a format not directly supported by
GeoNetwork, to import them in the import option there's a section *Apply
XSLT conversion*, you need to choose the option *ArcCatalog8_to_ISO19115*.
That will convert the xml from the shapefile to ISO19115 that is supported
in GeoNetwork.
The import process just manages about the metadata, but doesn't import and
link the shapefile to the metadata (this can be done later editing the
metadata in GeoNetwork and attaching the shapefile to it).
If you work usually with ESRI products like ArcMap and have quite metadata
to publish, maybe you can be interested in GeoCat Bridge (
https://www.geocat.net/bridge/). It's not an open source tool, but allows
the publication directly from ArcMap to GeoNetwork of the metadata and data.

Jose García

Hi
I have tested in 3.2.x and I get this error even when selecting the xslt
*ArcCatalog8_to_ISO19115*:
NoSchemaMatchesException
Autodetecting schema failed for metadata record with root element Metadata
in namespace [Namespace: prefix "" is mapped to URI ""].
That used to work properly in previous versions of GeoNetwork, seem
something has been broken. I would suggest to open a issue in GitHub to
track this better.
